Dialogue session on operating grants: participation and cross-sectoral arts

In the run-up to the upcoming deadline for operating subsidies (2028-2032), Flanders Arts Institute is organising a sector meeting for exchange and networking within the participatory and cross-sectoral arts.

Which artists, platforms, and organisations focus on participation or cross-sectoral arts? What makes these forms unique, and how do they differ?

How can we make space for the various art practices covered below and work together to create a sustainable field in which players reinforce and complement each other?

Together, we will discuss the roles we play and issues that are relevant to these art practices.

Programme

In the morning, we will delve into the definition and demarcation of cross-sectoral arts and participation as described in the Arts Decree during a plenary presentation. We will answer frequently asked questions during a Q&A session.

In the afternoon, we will focus on networking and exchange by and for creators and artists who are considering applying for an operating subsidy. We will create space for questions, knowledge sharing and possible matches between (new) artistic partners.

  • 10am welcome
  • 10.15 plenary presentation
  • 12pm lunch
  • 1pm networking and exchange in small groups around specific issues
  • 3pm conclusion and networking drink
