What is the Landscape Sketch of the Arts?

Flanders Arts Institute is publishing a Landscape Sketch of the Arts every five years. The document is a strength and weakness analysis of the arts sector.

It shows current developments in the Flemish arts field in order to support the new cultural policy and professional field in developing a future strategy for the visual arts, performing arts, music, literature, audiovisual arts, architecture, design and transdisciplinary arts.

The Landscape Sketch is preceded by a long preparation and research process. It involves as many actors from the arts field as possible to gather input and shed light on various perspectives. The process will culminate in a publication bringing together all the findings – which can be translated back into practice.
