Open call: join Flanders Arts Institute for a professional media arts meeting in Le Fresnoy – Studio national (Hauts-de-France)

On 28 November, Werktank, Cas-co and Le Fresnoy – Studio national des arts contemporains will organise a meeting moment for artists and professionals from Flanders and France with a focus on the intersection between new media, film, visual arts, technology and science. The day runs parallel to their annual exhibition Panorama 26. Twelve artists from Flanders will present installations, performances and audiovisual work to French professionals.

To strengthen the collaboration and networking between Flanders and France, Flanders Arts Institute is inviting 10 artists, curators and professionals from Brussels and Flanders to participate in the gathering at Le Fresnoy.

  • Day 1 - 28.11.24

10:30 Welcoming
10:45 Welcome by the representation of Region Hauts-de-France and of Flanders
10:50 Introduction by Le Fresnoy and Flanders Arts Institute
11:00 Keynote by Ils Huygens and Adrien Cornelissen on recent developments in the French and Flemish new media art scenes
11:45 Presentation of artists and professionals present followed by an open discussion
12:30 Networking lunch
14:15 Presentation and film screening of artists from Flanders: Collective De Hoop, Elke Van Der Kelen, Lupe Arens, Guillaume Slizewicz, Haseeb Ahmed and Siemen Van Gaubergen
15:30 Presentation of installations by Lucy Andrews, Lucian Moriyama and Anouk Kellner
16:00 Visit Panorama exhibition in the presence of some of the artists followed by an open discussion
18:00 Networking drink and performance de Lucian Moriyama (to be confirmed)

  • Day 2 - 29.11.24

On 29 November, Le Fresnoy will organise a tour of their studios and their studios and of the exhibition Réver debout: Gregor Božič and Léonard Martin, Le Fresnoy's graduate artists, will be introduced to the MUba Eugène Leroy's collections (by subscription).

Interested?

Flanders Arts Institute invites 10 Flemish artists and professionals to participate in the two-day programme. We will pay for travel expenses and an overnight stay in Tourcoing (reimbursement based on actual costs up to a maximum of €200).
