Session 2: Broadening and deepening early music repertoire
  1. From 14:30 to 16:00

    Session 1: Presentation and innovation

Is extraordinary music-making and singing enough, or is more needed? How do you handle the dramaturgy and construction of the story during your concert ? How do you ensure that a concert or performance speaks to an audience? What concerns should be taken into account with other forms of presentation?

  2. From 14:30 to 16:00

Sessie 2: Professional framework within early music

The early music sector has a lot of diverse structures, all dealing with complex organisational issues. Not to mention infrastructure, the growing demand for sustainable business, writing grant applications, etc. What form of framework does the sector need? How is this currently organised? And what does the sector need in the future?

  3. From 16:30 to 18:00

    Session 1: Audience development strategies

How do you get your audience into the new stories you want to tell with early music? How do you attract and expand your audience? Do early music audiences need to be rejuvenated? How do you establish a lasting and long-term relationship with your audience?

  4. From 16:30 to 18:00

Session 2: Broadening and deepening early music repertoire

Early music is a broad sector, but often not obvious. On what basis are concert programmes put together? Does this sector suffer from the same ‘premiere disease’ sometimes observed in new music? How sustainable is the rediscovery of forgotten repertoires and how is the canon being expanded? And how often can you continue to play the Matthew Passion as an ensemble?
