Ménage à trois – part VII: Solidarity Matters
Ménage à trois is an annual programme organised by Flanders Arts Institute and the Direction des Arts visuels of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, with the aim of creating a space for dialogue between artists and art professionals from Wallonia, Brussels and Flanders.
Ménage à trois #7
This year, we are reflecting on working conditions and the way in which we organise ourselves as a sector. We find ourselves in a crisis situation, characterised by mounting pressure on the visual arts sector and a government that is increasingly withdrawing its support – in Flanders, Brussels and Wallonia – which makes the visual arts ecosystem particularly vulnerable.
That is why we want to look towards the future together: how can we organise and strengthen our work differently? How do we remain resilient, and with what resources? How do we tackle the challenges we face, and how can we build new forms of solidarity?
For this edition, we are bringing together artists, arts professionals and organisations to share ideas, experiences and opportunities, to gain a better understanding of one another and to work together towards stronger and more sustainable forms of solidarity within our sector.
