    Artistic interventions

    By Moïra Deepijan, Enrica Camporesi

The day will be brought to life through the lens of Enrica Camporesi. To mark the occasion, artist Moïra Deepijan is staging a pop-up exhibition of her work CHARGE MENTALE ARC-EN-CIEL, a project she has been developing and archiving since 2019.

  2. From 13:00 to 15:00

Workshop 1 - Artist parents charter for Flanders and Brussels

By Ariadna Estalella Alba, Céline Wiertz

How can we build a fair framework for artists and cultural workers with children? How can we create an arts sector that takes parenthood into account?

In this session, we will build on the charters of La RAC and NICC to develop a shared Artist Parents manifesto.

  3. From 13:00 to 15:00

Workshop 2 - Lowering barriers for artist parents and parents in the audience

    By Petr Dlouhý, Marika Smreková

'Parent-Friendly Culture' is not just a theoretical framework; it actually works. In just under four years, it has organised more than 35 events with free childcare and inspired various organisations to view parents as part of their audience.

During this workshop, we will discuss the urgency and the reasons why institutions need to pay attention to parents, and how culture can become a means of resisting the social exclusion that many parents experience. We will talk about ideas, personal stories and obstacles, as well as highly practical tools for making culture accessible.

Parent-Friendly Culture was initiated in 2023 by Marika Smreková (artist, activist, mother) & Petr Dlouhý (curator, non-parent) with the institutional support of Studio ALTA (culture & residency center) in Prague and within the framework of the On Mobilisation project.

  4. From 13:00 to 15:00

FULL Workshop 3 - Self-reliance: building communities and networks

On self-reliance, community building and establishing networks. "It takes a village to raise a child," but where do you find that village these days? How do you build a village?

  5. From 13:00 to 15:00

Workshop 4 - Multilingual workshop for children aged 3-6

    By Plein De Jeu

Plein De Jeu is a Brussels-based multidisciplinary collective that turns the city into its playground. They explore what happens when you mix up the rules of different disciplines. Working on a horizontal basis, they build worlds that are as absurd as they are inviting.

Plein De Jeu takes art seriously, but fortunately doesn’t take itself too seriously. And that makes them the perfect playmate for your kids!

Especially for this networking event, they have designed Plein De Jeu – Tiny Hands; a creative workshop for the youngest children, incorporating elements from the city and nature.
